Digital Copywriting and Communications Strategy
As a marketing copywriter, I understand volume and frequency are not enough without great creative. I have worked with teams to develop social media strategies incorporating quality content, from Pinterest boards to paid search campaigns. I work from the big ideas to the details, ensuring messaging aligns with overarching brand goals.
I have worked within various platforms including learning management systems (LMS); web development platforms including Sitefinity; social media; email marketing platforms including Salesforce and Constant Contact; and video conferencing platforms including Adobe Connect, Zoom, and Skype. I have also worked with nonprofit programs including Sage FR-50 (now Abila Fundraising 50) and Greater Giving to manage donor and volunteer communications. As communications touches all business functions, I often work across departments including information technology, academics, client services (in a nonprofit setting), and human resources.
As a former educator, I know the challenges of teaching in a real-world classroom. Early in my career, I worked with students in K-12 environments ranging from Title I urban to charter school and private school environments. I also have a master’s degree in education. I have used this in-depth industry knowledge and personal experience for various projects designed to connect with educators.
Effective thought leadership comes both from what you say as well as how you say it, and I enjoy helping people articulate their core values. From staff emails to speeches, I can help ensure executive messaging is clear and concise. I enjoy writing blogs and whitepapers as well as conducting interviews and contributing PR pieces.
Internal and Corporate Communications
With a background in education and nonprofit development, I especially enjoy working on corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects. I am also skilled at editing proposals and presentations for maximum impact.
As an editor, I am most concerned with clarity and brand voice. That said, I am also skilled at following style guides including AP.
